We were saddened to hear the news this week of the death of Joe Mee.

Sensai Joe Mee 3rd Dan brought the South Beach Karate Club to the Isabella Centre in 2007. It is still active today, although Joe had to pass on the reins to Dylan and Gemma after falling ill a couple of years ago.

He played a huge and active part in Centre life. He was our chairperson for nearly a decade and passionately fought to improve the Centre.

He will be fondly remembered for the humour he showed and the karate demonstrations he staged at our Christmas Fayres, which were a huge hit.
